The newest book in the Wilde Brothers series, featuring football star Jake Wilde, the youngest of the Wilde brothers. I have read all of the author's books and I really love her as a writer. I love her Friessen family books, but I also love her Wilde family books. These books are a series and need to be read in order. Jake is a football player and he loves his brother's sort of ex girlfriend. He asks her to marry him, but she says no and then he gets traded by his football team that he loves. Jake meets Chris, a really sweet girl who gives him some good, advice. They become friends and the story goes from there. I guess I am always excited whenever the author publishes a new book. I always pre-order them. I was excited to read about Jake and I loved this book. Jake and Chris and Jill and Samuel are real people. They don't act perfect, or do exactly what they should. Jake gets himself into his own mess, but that is real. He is a good person who is struggling with some issues. He is kind and loves fully. I can't wait to find out what happens next with Samuel's story continuing the series. The brothers' relationships with each other and their life interests are always complex. This author really makes you think. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good story with real characters in real situations with HEAs. The only complaint that I had about this story was that it was too short. I would have loved to read some more.Product details

I liked this book. I recommend this book. I will keep it and re read it.
It just wasn't for me . There was no connection ...slept together than they were in love.
I think next to Logan's and Julia's story Jake's and Chris' is my favorite story. It is sad two brothers a r e divided because of one lady. Jake gets traded and meets Chris. She had some of the same issues with a ex that Jake did with Jill. What started as friends became more. Chris was not selfish like Jill but cared more for how Jake felt. Almost to late Jake realized that Chris was his number one but he had to prove it.
I hope Samuel and Jake can find their way back to each other in the next book

The story is sad, but can certainly happen in real life... It's interesting and thought-provoking. The complete series is quite good!
A good read
Enjoyable Wilde brothers short story. This one focuses on the division between Jake and Sam. Always believable characters, dialogue and story line. Deep emotions without devastating the characters.
Lorhainne Eckhart always has take away truths.
"Jake learns that sometimes, what you wish for isn’t what you really want."
"Jake wondered if he’d had to choke out the “good” part, as Murray and Bucky were about as friendly as two hounds circling the same 'female dog'."
"You do know there’s a line you can’t cross, and you may not even be aware of it. Sometimes it helps to have someone else point it out to you, because when you’re emotionally in it, you can’t see the road ahead. You’re lost in this haze, you know? So I’m telling you because I’ve been there. My advice is to walk away."
I will re-read this short story and always look forward to more works by this author.
